Holbein Artist's Oil Colors

Holbein ranks as one of the world's finest lines of professional oil colors. The formulation of each color is modified individually to compensate for the inherent differences in the working characteristics of pigments. The result is an even consistency across the entire palette of color. Holbein maintains its quality standards by test inspection of pigment purity, color tone, applicability and adhesion, physical stability, light stability, thermo-stability, and anti-bacterial stability. Pigments are ground from three to five times as necessary to achieve a universally consistent viscosity. The manufacturing process in each of the preparation, mixing, grinding, adjustment, and filling stages is monitored by reference to optimum quality standards.

Lefranc & Bourgeois Artist Oils - The skill of the Old Masters meets modern research in this premium line of oils, designed to exceed the demands of artists today and tomorrow. Lefranc's Artist Oils use a distinctive Mediterranean palette and exclusive colors, 91% of which contain just one or two pigments, guaranteed to be wax-free. Each color has a creamy, even consistency, with outstanding lightfastness and outstanding tinting strength, striking the perfect balance between opacity and transparency. The colors have perfect mixability, and even drying times.

Liquitex Gloss and Matte Mediums - Use both Gloss and Matte Mediums as an extender and fixative for Liquitex Acrylic Paints. They can be mixed together, in any proportion, for a semi-gloss or satin medium. Liquitex Gloss Medium is also known as "Gloss Medium Varnish." Use it as a non-removable final picture varnish where a glossy protective coat is desired, or as a painting and glazing medium. It enhances the depth of color intensity, increases transparency and gloss, eases the flow of paint, and adds flexibility and adhesion to the paint film. Translucent when wet, and transparent when dry, this 100% acrylic polymer varnish is water-soluble when wet and can be thinned. Use it as an extender, a fixative, a ground, or a varnish. Note - Liquitex Gloss Medium is also known as "Gloss Medium Varnish." We disagree with this terminology, because a varnish must technically be removable from the paint surface. Use a true varnish if, for conservation reasons, the varnish must be removable at a later date.
